Bensalem PA Woman Dies after Car Collides with Tractor-Trailer on NJ Road

A Bensalem PA woman died as a result of injuries sustained in a serious auto accident on a New Jersey road.

The auto accident went down a short time after 11:00 a.m. on Route 130 in Florence, NJ. The victim was driving a Ford on the roadway when she attempted to pass through the intersection of Route 130 and Delaware Avenue. The vehicle never made it past the intersection; instead, the car was involved in a collision with a tractor-trailer.

The accident resulted in significant damage to both vehicles: the car was crushed beyond recognition and the tractor-trailer was reportedly jack-knifed.

Afterwards, other motorists dialed 911 and notified local law enforcement. Several police officers and emergency medical responders soon arrived at the scene of the accident and tended to the victim, who was briefly treated at the site before being rushed to a nearby hospital.

Doctors at the medical facility worked to stabilize the victim and treat her for traumatic injuries caused by the crash. The victim was listed in critical condition and died the next day. An autopsy is expected to confirm that she passed away as a result of injuries sustained in the truck accident.

The victim, who hailed from Bensalem, Pennsylvania, was 65 years old when she died.

The driver of the tractor-trailer involved in the auto accident is a 52-year-old man who lives in Hamilton, New Jersey. According to authorities, he did not sustain any injuries in the collision.

Law enforcement is actively investigating the fatal car accident and trying to figure out exactly what happened in the moments preceding the crash and whether either of the drivers was at fault. No one has been criminally charged or cited for any traffic violations in connection with the motor vehicle accident.

Depending on the circumstances of the accident, it is possible that the victim’s family members may be able to file a wrongful death claim against the other driver, or perhaps against a car manufacturer, for damages.
