Multiple-Vehicle Auto Accident in Northeast Philadelphia

A multiple-vehicle accident involving two trucks and several other vehicles caused a significant disruption on one of Northeast Philadelphia’s major highways recently.

The aforementioned collision occurred on I-95 South approaching Cottman Avenue in Northeast Philadelphia shortly before 6:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November 10th. The accident reportedly involved two trucks, as well as several other vehicles, and was initially attributed to the rainy weather conditions at the time.

As a result of the accident, multiple lanes of I-95 were closed near Northeast Philadelphia’s Tacony section and traffic ground to a halt. To facilitate other travelers, police began diverting all southbound traffic off of I-95 at Woodhaven Road. However, I-95 was soon up-and-running again as the vehicles involved in the accident were moved to the side of the roadway.

No injuries had been reported immediately following the crash, but multiple-vehicle accidents are notorious for causing significant injuries to those involved. In fact, traumatic injuries to the head and spinal cord are often sustained by victims of multiple-vehicle accidents, where side-swipes, head-on, and rear-end collisions can occur among several vehicles in the course of the accident, leaving the opportunity for more and greater injuries to each of the vehicles’ occupants.

Although car accidents can vary significantly, some of which do not result in any injuries at all, it is essential to know what your next steps should be following an accident in order to ensure that you are protected and can effectively advocate for yourself with other drivers, your insurance company, and other interested parties if necessary. Of course, these cases often become increasingly complex, particularly when you suffer injuries, at which time an experienced personal injury attorney can serve as an integral contributor to the success of your case.
